Back from hibernation ...

Wow, I cannot believe it has been so long ... :) So much has happened in this last year and I guess I really didn`t have time to write my blog. We finished our apparttment (well, what was planned to be done), E and I got MARRIED!! Oh yes, it was lovely. :) I finally finished my diploma and ended years of suffering XD. And besides all this I was working full time in a book store. This year started really slowly and I hope I will spend more time doing things I like than tings I must do. :) And maybe it`s time to breathe some life into this blog.

Been working on some stuff lately. I hope my Etsy shop will be buzzing soon. I will try to write a lot and hopefully often. :)

Haven`t been here a lot lately ... or not at all. The reason is simple - I work every day all day. And believe it or not ... I`m still unimployed. Funny ... :)

Anyway, I went to E`s cousin`s wedding this saturday. It was a lot of fun. And of course I had to make new dress. Didn`t make any good photos yet. :) So you can`t see it. BUT I have something else ... Pics of my sewing corner.

So, here it is:

I was completely lost this week ... could not get any inspiration for this week topic COCOON. But I did manage to draw this (totally absent-minded) for illustration friday. Don`t judge too hard ... or maybe you should. It might wake me up from this laziness. :)

As you can see some changes has been made ... I thought it`s time to do something with the look of my bloog. To all of those who loved the way it looked before ... I`m truly sorry. But I think you can get used to this look to.

So, question this week is: What do you think about the new look? :)

And then again ... that illustration friday. Friday came along again last week ... as always. Key word this week was AHEAD. And first thing that popped into my mind was:

"AHOOOOY CAPTAIN ... I THINK THERE`S A SAILBOAT AHEAD OF US ... "

Well, one can easily miss a sailboat in a fogg ... :) Anyway, drawn by hand on paper; scaned; coloured in photoshop; fogged in photoshop (adding noise).

Očistimo Slovenijo

Today it was all-slovenian action - Let`s clean Slovenia in one day! It was formed after this Estonian action. So everywhere people were getting together and everything was cleaned. Even in our small town about 50 people went on a mission. :) We were picking trash from 9am till 2pm today. You wouldn`t believe what kind of stuff people throw away ... goooosh!! Anyway, we did a good job I think.

I took some photos with my phone.

This was the final garbage pile ...

And we saw new fashion of recyclyng plastic ... Cuuute (I mean eggs and not the garbage part of the nest ... :))

Illustration friday - having fun

I was really having fun today with my illustration. "Rescue" is a great topic! As most of the times I used colored penciles - don`t you just love them. I have tons of it and I`m still buying it. :D

So, here it is ... my firefighter going to rescue somebody from fire ...

And, since I had time and will I was playing a bit in Photoshop. I was actually just adding contrast to my illustration. :D

I went to the supermarket today and the refrigerator there wanted to eat me. It was making weird noises. I got really scared. :D But anyway I got out alive and there is something else I wanted to show you. I bought some felt this monday and I am up and working hard. Making a nest ...

Since me and E started making an apartment in the attic of my parents house I can`t really think on anything else ... Everything I see mesures throug "how it would look in our apartment." I made floor plan, E and my dad took care of the technical stuff. So apartment is under construction right now. We have BIG plans ... hope we can make it. Anyway ... I was snooping through the internet one day and I came across this great blog ... My scandinavian retreat ... We love every single picture in this blog. And we would like to have a cabin just like those in it ... on lets say - Norwegian coast ... Ha ha. But we will be satisfied with a scandinavian look of our apartment - hopefuly. :D Well, on the sam blog I found this great program. I was never pleased with all those fancy programs where you can draw a floor plan in 3D. But this one is really close to what I wish in a program. So if you need to make a plan ... here it is: VISENO.

... vampire? :) It wasn`t like that. Although lately I am one of those who fell for Edward the vampire (what a coincidence that my B-friend shares the name with him (but luckily not the thirst for blood).

You can see how I came to this step in my previous post "she thinks she can draw".

I used normal colour penciles and watercolour penciles. I always complicate things so I tryed to make it as simple as possible. With lines and with colours too.

And that`s it. :)

SHE THINKS SHE CAN DRAW

I`ve been drawing again for IF. This weeks theme was germs. Yayks! Anyway this is how my drawing went. I started with a sketch. Oh, did I tell you I absolutely adore Mark Crilley and all his "how to draw" that you can find on youtube ... Thank you B. for lending me your coppy of Miki falls and for showing me the world of Crilley manga drawing. Although I never did like mangas (wich is weird since I`m studying japanese ...) I like his style.
Ok lets go on with MY drawing. :) Sketch. I was cinsidering fifth pannel with only germs drawn in it. But I think it would be too tacky. So I didn`t use it.

I used four pannels with a close up face of a girl sneezing. Step by step.

And finally I went over with black colour pencil and erased all lines that was not supposed to be there. I ended up with this.

The finall coloured result can be seen in my next post.

Didn`t have much time lately. I actually went on vacation. Yeeey for me. :) And I`m still looking for a new job. So nothing new really.

Knitting ...

I almost forgot to post my finished knitting project. :) I think that this wool was a bit too soft. But I guess that everything came out ok for my first project. :) Now I just need to find time to knit some more.

(Photos are taken with my mobile phone so they are not really high quality ... :)

I would love to learn how to knit socks. I`m always cold in winter time. :)

... I`m sorry I haven`t been posting for so long. :) It has been a while. I`ve been really busy. But now I`m back. I was sewing a dress for a friends wedding. I was choosing a pattern if you remember ... Well, that dress was almost finished when last week I changed my mind. I didn`t like it anymore so this week I made another dress for a wedding that happened yesterday. It was a close call, but I made it!

I have been busy. For a long time I wanted to make a T-shirt for my boyfriend. And I finally had time for that. I found some great material. Cotton I guess ... in two colours. It`s not really a summer fabric, but it`s ok. I guess he is really hot when he`s wearing it. :) I think it looks really good on him. I used pattern from Burdastyle.

He was so kind and was acting like a model for me to take this pics. :)

Oh yes yes ... I`ve been busy like a bee (btw: I know they are busy right now because they are flying all around our house ... ) I made nice romantic blouse. I had a great pattern made by JJ at Burdastyle comunity. Thank you JJ, you are a true inspiration.

Anyway ... some pics of my blouse.

I think it looks quite lovely. :)

Oh ... and I tryed my mums wedding dress the other day. We had a blast! I look like a woman from wild wild west :)

Anyway, my other projects are okey (ummmm ... :)). Kniting is going as expected. I almost finished my pink vest. Just some more rows to go. :) And I almost finished dress I`m gonna wear to a friends wedding in july (hmmmm ... I think you can see I`m unimployed right now. I have too much time. :)).

Pletenje (knitting) by Wanda Bonando

First is first ... my knitting project (I hope I will finis it before summer will come :)). I was checking out my mum`s old book about knitting and I thought it would be nice to have something new ... made by my mum. :) She didn`t wanna make it so I have to make it myself. :)

I think I`m knitting quite ok ... since I remember my knitting from when I was 15 ... That was NOT a smoothe knitting like it is now. I guess there is the right time and place for everything ... even for knitting. I just started knitting the other day (after a looong time) and it looked quite good. :)

And oh yes, the WEDDINGS ... I guess I can`t get ridd of those. :) All of my friends are getting maried. So, I was thinking red and white (red everywhere I know). I was checking out some old burdas and picked out three dresses. I`m gonna choose one of them when I get the right fabric. It`s gonna be a touhg choice.

Last but not least ... my firefighting days. I finaly got these:

And I was really glad. I became sworn volunteer firefighter. I had to stand up in front of all firefighters from our department (and some from other departments) and I had to vow to do good for people. It was a great feeling.

I made a bag ... again

So ... I made another bag. It was really easy to make. I had some fabric that I couldn`t use for anything else because it was not enough of it for a skirt or sth. But no matter how much fabric you have you can always make a bag. :)
This one is quite practic. It opens on two sides. I hate bags that are big but you can never put anything big in it because the zipper is too small ... I don`t have problems like that with this one. Love it!

Ok, so here it is ... my card for Cute card thursday. I finally had free time to do some craft. :) This weeks theme was ... well, very cute. :) "wine and dine" ... That says it all. I scaned my card so it`s a bit squashed ... sorry for that. And card is half white and half pink inside ... I think you can`t really see that in the second picture. :(

Linocut

Well, that is my new hobby. :) I remembered my school days ... aaahhh, those old days ... :) Anyway, we were doing linocut at school. And I decidet to make those memories a bit more alive. :)

The first one is my sketch (I made it at work ... yes, I have a boring job ... and I`m looking for another one. :)). The second one is - of course - print. I think it looks ok for my first print after - let`s say - 10 years. :)

So, I made my costume a swell ... I only had to make a shirt and a hat. I used old linen for my skirt. And I had a piece of white thermo velour which I used for hat. Don`t I look smart or what! :)

So here is costum for my E. I used 1.5 m of wool tartan wich was great for sewing. I love it. I made upper part from my mums old leather jacket (with her permission). :)
Upper part is manly sewn by hand (my poore fingers :)). But it was woth it because it looks great.
I made him this thing for hand too ... William Wallace has it too. :)
I didn`t make belt for his sword ... I just made some loops on the back. It works ok. :)
E. loves it ... we`ll see today what will others say. :) I think it looks ok ... But then again I think everything E. wears looks great. =D

Pust is a great carnival. And it`s gonny be this weekend. It`s very similar to helloween. It has been years since I was wearing costumes for carnival. Usually kids dress up and go trick-or-treating. :) But where my E. Lives they dress up every year and go around village. So this year even I`m gonna trick-or-treat.

So what am I gonna be?? I`ve been thinking all week. E wants to be William Wallace. :) So I`m making him a costume.
He`s gonny be my own highlander (it is funny, because he lives in some kind of highland. :)).
And me ... I decided to be a Smurfette. :)
And I`m not even blond. :) Anyway ... stay tuned for pictures of our costumes ... made by me (of course). :)

New year`s resolution :)

I`ve been really busy these days. Didn`t even have time to write a post or two. So I`ll post everything I did next year. :)

I hope you`ll have fun today and every day of new year. I`m off to a mountain cabin today where we will have party. Can`t wait. This year was great for me and I hope the next one will be too. So my new year`s resolution is to have fun every day of year 2009. :) I think I can handle that.

oh my tree and Friday sketchers ...

I finally made card for last week. It seems I don`t have time for anything these days. I work and when I come home I just go to bed. What a waste of time. :) But I did manage to make this card for Friday sketchers ...

I still need some more cards ... I have to send it to my friends. Especially to those I don`t see much. Anyway, this card was made from some paper prom my old stash, gold pencile and some felt. Easy easy. I like making cards if I have a sketch to follow.

And ... I missed last weeks cute card thursday ... but only because I was making my christmas tree. :) And this is proof:

So I had time and I decided I`m gonna do another challange. This week Cute card thursdays card is all about hearts. And here are mine ... :)
I used some paper from my old stash and some new paper. The red one with hearts is new. It is from a collection of papers that my sister gave me (thank you :)). It`s Paper touch - papers from all over the world fom Claire Fontaine. Love it. Oh, and I made snowlakes with my new puncher. :)
Anyway, I made a very simple card for this thursday.

St. Nicolas day ...

Love it love it love it ... When we were little we put the biggest pot we could find in the halway ... so that St. Nicolas would give us a lot of gifts. :) Now I usually just wish to get some socks or something like that. :) Well and sweets too. :) So this year I got some really great mittens. They are sooooo cute. I love them!
My mum made them. I think I got red mittens with blue stripes for St. Nicolas day two years ago. And they are really poorly-looking things now. So It`s great that I got new ones, because I really need them. Aren`t they great or what??!! And thay came together with ... yes, you guessed ... with sweets and tangerins (they are really necessary for St. Nicolas day ... it wouldn`t be the same without that sweet tangerine smell.) :)Oh, and when I`m at it ... I sould share this with you. :) I`ve got this flower in my room ... It`s white rose. And it`s still there ... so why is this strange? Because I have it for almost a month now and it looks the same as when I got it. And it is not a plastic flower. :D Maybe it will last till the end of december. :)

It was snowing today. :) I went to work at 7:30 and first snowflakes were falling down. When I wanted to go home 8 hours later ... I found this waiting for me:
It took another 30 minutes before I cleaned this. :) Pictures are taken with my phone so they are not really good. But I think you can see everything it needs to be seen. :)

And all I could see while driving home was ... snow:

We went for a walk yesterday. On a hill near my b-friends home. It was one of those great sunny sundays in fall. :) We were catching the last glimps of sun. It was beautiful.
After that we went to a turistical farm (our friends family has this farm) to have something to eat. This pictures were taken 100 meters away from this farm. It is really great view. (pictures were taken with my cell phone, so quality is not really great ... sorry)

Anyway ... it was a great day. Now we are just hoping that it will get colder and that december will be white. I love winter evenings. Snow outside and me inside under a warm blanket. :) mmmmm

Me and my boyfriend went to Ljubljana two days ago. We had real fun shopping, walking around and pretending that we are tourists. :) Taking pictures of everything. Fun fun fun! It was raining at home and storm was comming really fast over Ljubljana too. Here are some pictures of our trip.

We went to get a cup of coffie in this sweet cafe ... la petit cafe ...
As I said there was rain at home. And this was the result: River near our house got huuuge. :) And really dirty brown. (this is view from my balcony)
Lake in nearby town was brown too. Usually it has really nice colour.

And this is how the road looked like when I was going home from my boyfriends home. Leaves everywhere. Water was overflowing the road (wich is really narrow).

Anyway, I like fall even in rain ... fall always has great colours. :)

I finally have some time to put promised pictures in here ... :)

First there was a vineyard ...

Hailstone did a lot of damage this year ...
But there was still enough grapes for four containers like this (and they aren`t small) ... :) We will drink wine this year too.

Ghost in wine cellar ... :) Let`s just hope it won`t drink all this years wine ...

Friday Sketchers Sketch Number 30

It is friday again :). Today I didn`t have to go to work. So I`m at home, looking through windows, waiting for snow. :) It is suppose to be snowing today again. Yipiiiiiii! :)

Anyway, because it`s friday again it is time for Friday Sketchers too. It is a very simple sketch, leaving us free hands. This is what I did:I made a very very simple card. I`m not completely satisfied with it. I think it looks a bit plain. But then again I do like simple cards the most. :) I just can`t decide on this one.

This week I used some left-over felts I had (The one I used for decorating my car) and again some glitter glue. :) I love that.

I bought my first set of stamps. Finally. :) It is "O tannenbaum" (Oh christmas tree) set from Variostempel. I love it. I can`t wait till friday to get new sketch from Friday sketchers so I can try them. :)

I chose colors from golden to red. I used some colored paper from my stash (I think I have this paper from my highschool ... :)) I did picture by myself - again. :) I used my watercolor pencils.

And again text is in slovenian language. It means HAPPY HOLIDAY.

Friday sketchers challenge nr 26

This is my card for this friday.
I bought the red paper for card this week, when I went to Ljubljana. It is MAJESTIC emperor red. It`s a bit shiny. I bought some silver and golden paper too. Green paper for tree and shiny paper for ornaments and bands is KYOWA origami paper. I bought that one in Tokyo last year. It is great for things like this. Picture was drawn by me and colored with my watercolor penciles by Faber-castell. Everybody knows the agony of getting tree lights ready ... They get knotted again and again every year :).

I came acros this great blog called Friday Sketchers. So I`m gonny try a bit of my creativity. :) So, this is my first card ...I really think I`m gonna have to try better next time. :) (But in my defence ... I`m really sick right now :( )

I was wondering ... is anybody out there? :)

Anyway ... it will soon be december ... and all the holidays ... So it`s probably time for me to make some Xmas cards. Every year I say I`m gonna make them myself ... but I never really got to that. :) Time speeds up in october every year. And - again and again - december always surprises me. So I send cards that I buy. But not this year!

It was/is a great year for me. So much happened to me. So why not push my luck a bit more. :) This year I`m gonna make Xmas cards. :) And I`m gonna start right now.

I have been busy

I have been doing some things ... But lately I really don`t have much time. So, what did I do last two weeks? Work most of the time. But I did find few minutes here and there to do some sewing.

First project was finishing my res skirt ... It was giving me a lot of problems. But I finally did finish it. Although it did not came out the way I wanted to. But it still looks ok. I got pattern form an old sewing book we have at home. I think I`m gonna stick to Burda modemagazin from now on ... Because sizes in this book were a bit strange. :)

Zipper foot ... aaaaa ... I love it. :) It makes thing so much easyer.
My next project was toiletry bag. I made it very quickly. I did try to follow this pattern ... but I must admit I was improvising a lot. :) At the end it looks quite ok.

Then it was another party comming up ... My friend just graduated. So we went out for a few drinks. He is now a criminalist. We didn`t know what to give him. So we wanted to give him the best partner for work. :) It was soooo much fun. We gave him Rex. Not the real one. I made the inscription on the back: "REX KRIMINALPOLIZEI". :) Our friend loved it. He is gonny put it on the back shelf of his car.I finished my last project today. It was a top from very cute fabric. :) With small cats on it. Pattern is from Burda modemagazin 2/2008. Pattern no. 122. Very easy to make.

And that is it ... I think I`m gona try to make shirt next. :) We`ll see ...

Finally something new

It was my friends B-day and I wanted to give her something made by me. I always like to have small bags in my bag ... so that everything is well organized. I remembered this great tutorial for small bags. Thank you Javajem! :)

I got this really great fabric. White with red print on it. And one red material for inner parts of bags.My friend was very pleased with the present. And of course I was very happy about it. :)

Anybody who knows me knows that I absolutely adore my car (although it`s giving me a hard time lately). Anyway ... this is my Peugeot 206 called PABLO. :)

I`m always trying to make it look beautiful. And one day I got a great idea. First I printed out picture - only outline. For me it was a lion - of course. :)
Next you need a sheet of felts (I think is woolen). But not the soft one. It must be hard. And then you pin printed picture on this sheet of felts. You can use normal paper clips or anything else that will hold this two sheets together.
Then you will need a tapestry knife (I don`t really know the name of the knife. Just check the picture. :)). With this knife you cut out the picture. You should make sure that everything is in one piece because we won`t use glue.
When you cut it out is should look like this.
Then you just put it on the back shelf of your car. It is also dressed in a material like felts. And this materials stick together realy great. You put it on a shelf and it will stay there. It won`t move. :) It`s a great decoration. So now my back shelf looks like this (so girlish ... :)):

A new beginning

Until now I was writting about my old project. Now it`s time for a fresh start. :) I went to the "big city" few days ago. I had some free time and I wanted to buy some fabrics at a store that I didn`t go to for a long time. I had a bit of a shock. They shut it down a while ago. :(

This was it. It does look very old and I guess it was time that they shut it down.
Luckily I discovered a great new fabric store. I`m sure I`m gonna visit it every time I`m gonna go to Ljubljana if I will only have time. I bought some fabric. It was hard to decide. At the end I tryed hard and I only bought four different fabrics (well five, but one was for my sister). :)

So right now I have quite a stock at home. I have this pile of fabrics. Plus all the leftovers that aren`t really small. :) I have to do one more thing for my study and then I`m gonna be sewing for at least two weeks. :) He he I`m doing plans already... that green material with hearts will be a skirt. Both red materials will be skirts. One shirt, one dress and maybe a blazer or two. WAHOOO!!

Friends wedding in start of september

(I got a bit artistic. :) )

My friend was getting married in start of september. And of course I had nothing to wear. I couldn`t find anything to buy. Dresses never fits me. So I did what I normally do. I sewed myself a party dres.

When I was looking for pattern I went through a billion of Burdas. And I finally found a Toni Gard dress in Burda 5/2008 (pattern no. 127)
Finding the right fabric was very tough. But I did eventually find perfect fabric. With flowers and strawberries. So cute. :)
I didn`t like the shawl much so I made it without it. Instead of that I put small belts on shoulders. So that fabrics stayed folded.
I also changed the neckline, because the dres was otherwise too open. Not really apropriate for going to church. :)
I still thought that the dres was boring. So I made belt that goes with it. I used red ropes to fasten it. I think it looks quite good. Very "reduced" obi belt. :)
What I like the most about this dress is swinging skirt. It`s great for dancing. And the dress was quite a succes. All my friends said I did a great job. So naturally I felt Goooooood.

And this is us, right before we left for wedding. Dont we look smart? ;)
The white fabric with flowers and strawberries is some synthetic material I think. The red one is silk. I used some red ropes too.
Pattern is, as I have already written, from Burda modemagazin.

Spring jacket in fall

I wanted to make this jacket for spring 2008 ... but I had some problems with collar. I didn`t feel like dealing with it at that time so I left it for better times. Well, better times had come in start of september. I finally finished my jacket that suddenly became fall jacket instead of spring jacket.
The collar is a bit improvised, but it looks ok like this too.
If you didn`t already notice ... I used green ribbon to hem the pockets (like I did at playground jeans).

And one more obvious thing. I used the same green tartan cotton, for the inside part of jacket, as I did for playground jeans.
I only used two wooden buttons. It`s more playful like this. Open half way and green tartan looking out. :)

Material I used was green boucle, green tartan cotton, some green ribbon and two wooden buttons.
I used pattern from Burda modemagazin 2/2008. Pattern no. 104. It`s the bright yellow jacket on the cover of the magazin.

My sisters B-day

Summer was starting and my sisters birthday was comming up. She is working at home. Always in fron of PC. So I wanted to make her something nice, comfortable to wear while working. I found great pattern od Burda style site called ESTHER. And then I bought two different elastic cottons. One all blue and one blue with pink print on it.
I cut out all the pieces twice. Once from blue fabric and once from blue-pink fabric. And then I started sewind two esthers. When I finished that I just put them together and made one esther out of it. It`s a great thing. Now she can wear it on both sides. Only blue or blue - pink.

It`s a very easy pattern. Although it did get a bit complicated when I was putting two pieces together. But nothing I couldn`t handle. And I`m not really an expert. :)

Playground jeans

I hate pants shopping. I hate trying them on. You have to undress ... and dress ... and again undress ... Arrgghhh ... So very anoying. So one day I discovered I was out of jeans. PANIC! What to wear. I rushed into our local fabrics store and I bought some elastic jeans material. And right there ~BAM~ I got an idea. I saw this cute green tartan cotton and I decided to use that on my jeans.

I always wear jeans on high heels and on flats. So I want my jeans to be flexible. This was a problem I solved quickly. I just made them longer. But ... what to do, to make them special? :) I used that cute green tartan cotton on the inside hem. So when I wear flats that green tartan shines out. :) I love it.

I did the same at waist hem just for fun. Because I like the way men trousers look like. They always have something like that on waist hem.

I also used some ribbon leftovers. It was coincidentaly green :). I used it to hem pockets and to make belt loops.

So all in all it was quite a lot of work. But it was worth it. They look great. Using contrastnig color was a great idea (sometimes I get those too).

Pattern was again from Burda modemagazin. Although I changed it totaly. I only used it for basic.

Quite orange

Project shirt that started out good and - how strange - ended good too. I might be making shirts again soon just because this one came out OK. I`m kind of scared of making shirts. Why? I always have problems with collar. And I won`t even mention the problems I have with buttonholes.
Anyway, I was brave enough to strat this one. And now I`m glad that I was. Although I made it just a bit too short. Next time I`m gonna make it longer.
I got the pattern from Burda modemagazin from june 2007. This great orange material I bought in a local fabrics shop. It`s an elastic cotton. I like elastic materila because clothes are more flexible that way. I also bought buttons at a local shop. They are the same color as print on the fabric.

Buttonholes are not exactly the way they should be. I`m gonna have to try harder next time. :)

Big adventures starts with timberland

Again I couldn`t resist buying RED fabric. It is a timberland fabric with little shoe prints on and stuf like that. So cute I had to have it.
Then I found a pattern in Burda modemagazin - again. :) It`s a top with a zipper. And this is a project that goes side by side with the instructions. I was quite proud when I made it.

Blue striped top is original from Burda. Mine is the red one. They are quite similar aren`t they. Although the red fabric was a bit elastic. I was affraid that it wouldn`t come out as nice as the non-elastic original. But I guess I was wrong. :)

I had nothing to do and I didn`t feel like studying (I never do). So I had this leftovers from my anda dres. And I said "Well, why not ... Let`s make something." :) Again on Burda style web page I saw this wristlets. What a great page this is. You can really find inspiration there. Well, I liked the wristlets and I wanted one of my own. I found a link to the pattern and tutorial. And that is one good blog to read. I recomend it to everybody.

I had fabrics, pattern and time. And this is what came out.

Summer is comming

It was getting hot and I was in desperate need of a light summer dress I could wear at home. I saw this great pattern in this great web page (wich I recomend to all sewing lovers) Burda style. Of course you can find me - well, I do love sewing - there ... or I should say HERE. Anyway, I had this two different cottons I decided to use for this pattern.

It was an easy thing to do. Few seams and the dress was finished. Although I did change the pattern a bit. I always do that. :) I altered collar. I made it more open. And I used belt.

And this is me ... enjoying summer in my green anda dress.

Black velvet

Well, back in black ... :) I made this last winter I think. I like to wear skirts in winter. They go so well with boots. I saw this black velvet material with white flower print on it in local fabrics store and I had to buy it.

I used pattern from burda modemagazin . We have like a milion of those at home. It`s great. Whenever you feel like sewing you just look through them and you surely find something you would like to have. :) Unfortunatly it`s only in german language ... so when it comes to instructions I improvise. :)

So, I was looking through Burda modemagazin October 2002 and I found my skirt. Quite an easy pattern.

I made no belt. Instead of that I used black ribbon. And I used it to finish the bottom line too.

I made this skirt a size too big. (Or maybe - hopefully - I lost weight :)) But I can still wear it because I can put a belt on it.

And that is it. Another skirt in my closet. :)

More of my old projects

OK ... don`t even ask what I am doing here. :) I`m posing in my (then) new party top. I usualy don`t wear pink. But I quite like this top. It`s very simple no-pattern-all-improvising top. It was made very quickly too. Maybe 20 minutes. It only has a few seams. And it is a very elastic material.

This is my beach dress. Again no pattern project made in few minutes (it seams I have a lot of those). I like orange color. The material is not so good. It`s quite synthetic. But it is really comfortabe as a beach dress.

And finally my red skirt. Made from elastic cotton. It has some small patterns on it. Because material is so elastic I didn`t use any zipper (That is why I like elastric material :)). You just fasten the belt on one side so that the skirt stays on. :) Very easy to make. Again I didn`t use any pattern. It was all just my imagination and improvising.

Well, because this is a blog about things I like to do it`s probably good if I show you some of my finished projects. I`m gonna be talking mostly about sewing. That is my pasion. My way of relaxing (although it can make me very nervous sometimes :). When nothing goes right.).

This is few of my old sewing projects. They are so old I don`t even remember wich pattern I was using. Or they were so improvised that there was no pattern at all.

First is my three color skirt. Very light summer cotton.

Second is my striped blue A-shaped skirt. Again very light cotton. It was made in 30 minutes. I think that putting zipper in took me about 20 minutes. :) I hate doing that. Zippers and button holes. Aarrgggghh ... I always ask my mum to do button holes. :)
Anyway, this material was so transparent I had to put double layer of it. We don`t want people to see too much do we ... :)
